Pokemon X and Y







Nintendo broke some pretty big news recently for fans of their handheld gaming system. The company Announced that a new generation of "Pokemon" is coming to the 3DS when "Pokemon X" and "Y" are released in October.

Though "Pokemon Rumble Blast" was the first "Pokemon" game to be released on Nintendo's 3DS gaming system, "X" and "Y" will be the series' first games to come out in a fully 3D polygonal. As the launch trailer above reveals, the new "Pokemon X" and "Y" games have enhanced graphics that show off the 3DS's power.

"Pokemon" is the second-largest video game franchise in the world, trailing only behind "Mario." As of March, over 219.8 million copies of the series have been sold worldwide. The announcement of "Pokemon X" and "Y" was met with excitement in the gaming community, and Likely Will boost the sales of the 3DS when the games come out worldwide in October. It also would not be surprising if Nintendo put together a special "Pokemon" bundle with the 3DS to help encourage sales of the system that way.

The new "starter" Pokemon being Introduced in the two new titles are Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie. The Pokemon Company CEO Tells Tsunekazu Ishihara 4Gamer that the total number of Pokemon species will surpass 700 thanks to "X" and "Y," and that fans can expect more complex types of Pokemon in the new games.
